Classic Works of New Media Art is a pioneering book in Poland, presenting a must-see selection of new media art pieces hand-picked by the most respected Polish experts in the field, including Monika Bakke, Piotr Celinski, Ryszard W. Kluszczyński. Anna Nacher, Andrzej Pitrus, Antoni Porczak, Sidey Myoo, Ewa Wojtowicz.

The collection features works by some of the field’s leading artists, including Bill Viola, Lynn Hershman-Leeson, Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau, Masaki Fujihata, Jeffrey Shaw, Blast Theory and Stelarc.

Piotr Zawojski’s concept as the editor of the project, was to create an encyclopaedic review of modern classics in the field of new media art practices. In addition to the traditional form of a book, the publication will also be released in hypermedia version.

The launch of the project attended by selected authors will be held on November 13 at the opening of this year’s art+bits festival of art, design and technology in Katowice.
