This workshop provides fundamental knowledge and necessary skills to design cartographic data visualizations.
In a hands-on session, we will focus on analyzing and visualizing bike-sharing rides in Katowice in small project groups. The City of Katowice provides data from its bike-sharing network to be used in the workshop.
The workshop is open to people from various professional backgrounds (e.g., design, data science, software engineering, urban development, or geography). Participants can have but do not need experience with visualization, cartography, coding, or specific software.
The workshop will be held in English. Participants should bring a computer to work with during the workshop. We will communicate additional requirements (e.g., software to be installed) and further details before the event.
Fabian Ehmel is a designer and design technologist focussing on data visualization, working at Studio NAND in Berlin. He studied Interfacedesign at the Fachhochschule Potsdam (DE), Interaction Design at Malmö University (SE) and Geography and Computer Sciences at Potsdam University (DE).
